Common troubleshooting methods for dental mobile phones

Release time:2025-02-18

The consumption during the use of dental phones, combined with the influence of high-temperature sterilization and improper operation, often leads to various problems with dental phones. Actually, some problems can be avoided or solved by doctors and nurses themselves. Recently, our company has experienced severe staff turnover, coupled with a large amount of maintenance work and a serious backlog. In order not to delay everyone's use, we will summarize and share common problems with everyone. Please try to solve them and send them to us for repair if they don't work. It can save outpatient expenses and reduce our workload.

1. Do not rotate after high-temperature sterilization.

Before high-temperature sterilization, oil should be added to the phone to protect the bearings. However, some mobile phone oils may have solid residues after high-temperature evaporation, which can stick the ball bearings, inner and outer rings, and cage together because the torque of pneumatic mobile phones is small and cannot make the bearings rotate. At this point, first inject oil into the phone to dissolve the dry grease, then install a larger diameter needle and rotate it left and right by hand. The rotation amplitude gradually increases until it rotates smoothly, then install it on the phone tube. Step on the foot pedal and use air to drive the phone to remove any residue, and then inject new oil to use it normally. High speed mobile phones, low-speed straight phones, low-speed bending machines, and root canal mobile phones can all be solved in this way. The low-speed motor needs to be connected to a straight head for assistance because the connecting shaft is not exposed. The straight head is equipped with a large grinding head, which can be manually rotated to drive the rotor assembly to rotate. Low speed motors require a large amount of oil injection and repeated flushing due to their internal structure, which makes it difficult to remove oil stains.

2. Unable to clamp the needle after high-temperature sterilization (press type mobile phone).

The clamping shaft of high-speed mobile phones is very small and precise, and the clamping component is reset by a spring. When there is a buildup of solidified grease or other dirt, or when high-temperature metal rusts, the clamping component cannot return to its original position due to the force of the spring. At this point, the back cover should be held down, and cleaning lubricant should be used to align with the car's needle holes for oil cleaning. Then, the back cover should be repeatedly pressed, followed by oil cleaning and repeated pressing. Repeating the above steps can repair most phones. Some mobile phones, such as NSK and SIRONA phones, can be equipped with a car needle. Use the front end of the car needle to press against a hard object and apply slight force to help the clamping component return to its original position. Then repeat the steps of pressing, pushing back, oiling, cleaning, and repeatedly pressing the back cover. The pressing clamp shafts of high-speed phones, low-speed bending machines, planting phones, root canal phones, etc. need to be regularly oiled and cleaned.

3. The needle cannot be removed when planting a mobile phone.

When the needle hole is too large or irregular, this situation is prone to occur, especially for some needles with chamfered edges on the side of the semi-circular cross-section at the top, which are most difficult to remove. The solution is to install the machine head onto the motor (using the resistance of the motor, otherwise the needle will drive the movement to rotate), clamp the needle with a needle holder or pliers, and rotate the needle in the opposite direction of the rotation direction about 15 °~30 ° when it is stuck. If you feel that there is some movement gap in the needle, press the back cover to remove the needle.

4. The high-speed mobile phone spray is abnormal.

The cooling water of high-speed mobile phones is atomized by the action of air, which means that both the cooling water and cooling air must be turned on at the same time and adjusted in coordination. Cooling air on dental chairs is called atomized air, and some dental chairs are labeled as blowing air. Most dental chairs have a separate knob for nebulizing air, placed next to the water volume knob. Many dentists mistakenly adjust the water button up or down. When the water on the phone sprays out in a columnar shape or has poor atomization, it is necessary to turn on or increase the cooling air. When it looks foggy but there is a burnt smell when grinding teeth, the water volume should be increased and the atomization gas should be reduced. Cooling air must be present, but not too large. When water splashes heavily when grinding teeth, it indicates that the atomization air conditioning is too high. The simplest adjustment method is to first turn off the atomizing gas and let the phone run, then turn on the water and keep the phone running. Slowly turn on the atomizing gas and let the airflow just atomize the water. Many high-speed mobile phones are now multi-point spray. The multi-point spray mobile phone water and atomization gas are mixed in the water jacket of the mobile phone. If the atomization gas is opened too much, it will push the water back and cause the mobile phone not to water out. Therefore, when the mobile phone with multi-point spray does not produce water, the atomization gas should be turned down first.

5. Water pipe jet of low-speed motor.

Low speed motors are divided into two types: inner water channel and outer water channel. Some are spray mist, while others are single spray water. This refers to the external waterway mobile phone, and the most common one on the market is the NSK style, with a protruding water pipe interface above the interface. The atomization trachea and water pipe of this mobile phone are connected inside the interface. In the past, some dental chairs could turn off the atomization gas of low-speed phones separately, but now the dental chairs basically share the same atomization gas knob for low-speed and high-speed phones. When using high-speed phones, everything is normal, but when using low-speed phones, air will be sprayed from the water pipe. At this point, turn off the atomizing gas to stop spraying, but remember to turn it on after use, otherwise the water will not atomize when using it at high speed. Previously, when we installed dental chairs, we would fix the low-speed cooling air pipe to avoid this problem. Later, because I didn't know what kind of low-speed phones customers would buy, some low-speed phones used atomized gas, while others rarely used low-speed and only used high-speed. Considering the diverse needs of customers, the cooling air pipe was not blocked. If you fix this phone tube at low speed, it is recommended to tie the atomizing air tube. Those who do not know how to operate can contact us.

6. The return gas cylinder under the equipment tray is leaking or leaking oil.

Compressed air drives the operation of the mobile phone, and the air flowing out is connected to the gas cylinder under the instrument tray through the mobile phone return pipe and discharged. The exhaust hole of the gas cylinder is located on the side of the bottle, with cotton or sponge inside. The function of the gas return cylinder is to reduce the noise of the return pipe jet and absorb excess mobile phone oil. The gas cylinder needs to be regularly cleaned and replaced with cotton or sponge. A normally used dental chair return gas cylinder will not have water discharged unless there are several situations: ① the phone is not tightened ② the four hole pad on the phone interface is lost ③ the internal water pipe and return pipe of the phone tube rupture simultaneously ④ the internal water pipe of the phone falls off. The probability of the third situation occurring is extremely low, so please check items ①③④ when there is a leak in the return gas cylinder.

7. The issue of connecting the dental chair to the sandblasting gun.

Gun type sandblasting machines and simple desktop sandblasting machines are commonly used in outpatient clinics, collectively referred to as sandblasting guns. When the sandblasting gun is working, the sand powder tank and pipeline are filled with compressed air. When stopping, due to the small aperture of the nozzle, it is difficult to empty the air in the sand powder tank and pipeline for a while. At this time, the gas will carry sand powder and be discharged from the mobile phone tube through the dental chair air route and the dental chair foot valve. The sand powder that cannot be discharged remains in the dental chair pipeline. When using high and low speed mobile phones, the sand powder enters the bearings, impellers, rotors, and other internal parts of the phones, causing damage to the phones. There is also sand powder sticking to the impeller, causing corrosion of the impeller. We have found that many clinics have sand powder like impurities inside their phones when repairing them. The bearings are not significantly damaged but the rotation is stuck, which is caused by sand powder entering the bearings. And when repairing dental chairs that often use sandblasting guns, it is also common to find sand powder on the inner wall of the trachea. So it is recommended that everyone use the sandblasting gun with caution. If it is necessary to use * *, please specify a separate dental chair for use. It's really not possible to specify a phone manager to use. There is really no way to use your phone on the phone tube after using the sandblasting gun. Please step on your foot and spray for a while before using it. Remember! Some people may say that our sandblasting gun has a check valve, but that's just a so-called check valve and doesn't work much.

8. Misconceptions about ultrasonic cleaning of mobile phones.

Many manufacturers and distributors advertise that mobile phones cannot be cleaned with ultrasonic waves, but my opinion is different. As for whether you need to judge for yourself, it is not necessary. The principle of ultrasonic cleaning is to use the high-frequency vibration generated by the ultrasonic generator to drive water to vibrate at the same frequency, thereby producing a flushing effect. There is currently no good way to clean the dirt inside the mobile phone tube except for ultrasonic cleaning and disassembly cleaning. I think the correct operation will not cause harm to the phone: ① When using ultrasonic cleaning, do not let the phone touch the inner wall of the cleaning tank. It should be placed in the basket that comes with it for cleaning. ② The water used for cleaning is distilled water or deionized water, and neutral detergent or cleaning enzymes can be added to improve the cleaning effect After cleaning, if the water is dirty, it is recommended to clean it repeatedly. After cleaning, there will be a large amount of water in the tube of the phone, and it must be dried with an air gun before disinfection and sterilization.
